From the beginner who has never played drums before, to the intermediate drummer trying to break into the music scene, to the advanced professional needing some help with technique, there are many ways I can help you take your drumming to the next level:
• hand and foot speed and coordination
• deepening your pocket and groove
• reading/writing your own charts
• keeping time with a click track
• basic music theory
• and more…
“I am so glad that we found Ryan. Our son plays the drums so nicely. He is also doing very well in his middle school band class and he is well prepared for high school band. Ryan is so patient and fun – your drum lessons will be very thorough.”
– Kim Mech (parent of student)
You’ll have the opportunity to learn on real drums – not an electronic kit or a set covered with rubber pads (very important for developing dynamics and tone). In addition, every lesson is customized to help you set and achieve your goals while having fun and being creative in the process.

Drums are my passion. Whether performing or teaching, I truly love getting behind the kit and making music. I’ve been teaching since 2002, and since then I’ve developed a comprehensive approach that encompasses everything I’ve learned from over 20 years of drumming experience.
I’m proud to say that students of mine have successfully auditioned for school band programs, including Denver School of the Arts, and a select few have even gone on to study music at the college level. I have also worked with many of Denver’s working drummers, helping them improve their craft and take their music to new places.
My studio is conveniently located on South Broadway near Evans, providing easy access from all regions of the Denver metro area. Equipped with two drum sets and an extensive library of learning materials, there is no better environment to immerse yourself in the art of drumming!
“Thank you so much for coming all the way out to Aurora Hills to teach such an awesome drum set clinic today! It was fabulous!”
– Robbie Hobein (band director at Aurora Hills Middle School)
